Teaching Philosophy
Joy of Learning Preschool uses Developmentally Appropriate Practices to build on a young child's natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. A variety of specific learning activities are planned to encourage exploration, discovery, and creative thinking. Children learn best when they are playing and will learn letters, numbers, and other skills in the context of their everyday lives. This can be achieved in an environment rich with opportunities to use literacy and numbers in fun and playful ways. Music, art, dramatic play and other forms of expression will be utilized. Learning will address social and emotional development as well as academic goals. Preschool class size is limited to allow for individualized instruction. Each child is unique and we will seek to allow each child to learn and discover in ways that are meaningful to him or her.
